Available concentrations:
Successful completion of the Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education leads to New York State certification to teach vocal and instrumental music in kindergarten through grade 12. As an alternative to employment in the public schools, music education graduates also find employment in Christian schools, performance, private teaching, and the music industry.
Music education majors must complete a formal application for admission to the Teacher Education Program. The application should be completed by December 15 of the sophomore year.
A 2.6 cumulative grade point average is necessary for admission to and continuance in the program.
