Jazz combo is a small ensemble where students learn the basics of jam session playing. This includes improvising over standard chord progressions, paying attention to cues given by peers, and understanding their role in the band. Jazz combo is open to all instrumentalists wishing to develop their “jazz chops” through weekly practice sessions and the occasional on and/or off campus gig.
