Dr. Paul Shewan, associate professor at Roberts Wesleyan College, conducts the Wind Ensemble and the Roberts Wesleyan College-Community Orchestra, and teaches trumpet and conducting. He earned his bachelor’s degree in music education from Roberts Wesleyan College, master’s degree in trumpet performance and literature from Eastman School of Music, and D.M.A. in conducting from Eastman School of Music. At Eastman, he studied with Mendi Rodan, Neil Varon, Donald Hunsberger, and Mark Scatterday, and appeared in several concerts, conducting the Eastman Wind Orchestra, the Eastman Wind Ensemble, and the Eastman Conducting Orchestra. Dr. Shewan is a member of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra trumpet section and also performs with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. He has recorded as a trumpet soloist and conductor for the Albany Record Label.

There is a participation fee of $65 which covers all meals, music, CD, and other expenses. The participation fee will be due upon notification of acceptance.

 

Auditions for Roberts Wesleyan College will also be scheduled for seniors interested in attending Roberts as a music major.  To register for an audition, fill out an online application.  Fill out the application and you will receive confirmation of receipt.  Auditions will occur Friday evening for Music Major scholarships to Roberts for 2008-2009.
