Congratulations to our May 2008 Division of Adult Professional Studies graduates!
We are excited to announce that 38 Organizational Management students and 16 Master of Science in Health Administration students participated in the graduation ceremony in the Voller Athletic Center on May 17, 2008. After the ceremony, many of our graduates and their families enjoyed a special reception sponsored by the Division in honor of their accomplishments at Garlock Dining Commons. Rochester Area Colleges Continuing Education
RACCE held its 25th Annual Outstanding Adult Student Awards and Banquet at the Lodge at Woodcliff on April 24, 2008. Donna Dedee, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bishop Kearney High School, was the guest speaker. This year RACCE recognized two students from the Division of Adult Professional Studies at Roberts Wesleyan College. Nathaniel McFarland of the Organizational Management program and Providence Crowder of the Public Safety Administration program, were honored with friends and family in attendance. Nate and Providence are two exceptional students and very deserving of this award. Congratulations to them both.
The mission of RACCE is to promote and advocate for higher education to adult and other non-traditional students in the greater Rochester area.
Congratulations to Steve Hays,

Leadership Breakfast Series
The Division of Business and the Division of Adult Professional Studies (DAPS) jointly hosted the first Leadership Breakfast Series on February 15, 2008. The event featured MSL alumnus Karen Benjamin (2005, Group 30), who is Principal of Worldleaders, www.worldleadersjobs.com a professional search firm that specializes in hiring top performing leaders for their progressive client organizations in Rochester, NY. During her presentation, “Managing Your Career,” Karen discussed the importance of assessing personal strengths; values and aspirations; establishing goals and objectives; and identifying the steps and timelines needed to achieve them. Representatives from the Rochester Rotary and the Gates Chili Rotary organizations were also on hand to acquaint the audience with volunteer opportunities for service in our community and worldwide.
The event was well attended by alumni, faculty, and staff from Roberts’ non-traditional degree programs. The Leadership Breakfast marked the first in a series of four forums designed for professional development and networking.

New Satellite Campus on East Side
On February 13, 2008, Roberts held an open house for the newest addition to its adult student sector: an eastside location at the Meridian Centre in Brighton. Roberts is hoping to expand its student base of adult learners by offering an alternative location on the east side of the city. Susan Sullivan, director of marketing and recruitment, commented, "being able to provide a convenient, permanent classroom location for prospective students who live and work east and south of Rochester is another attribute of our adult-oriented programming that helps keep Roberts Wesleyan College a viable choice when they are weighing their options and considering the impact of returning to school on their time and budget."
Master's degrees in Strategic Leadership, Strategic Marketing, and Health Administration are offered at the Meridian Centre as well as bachelor degree-completion programs in Organizational Management, Public Safety, and Health Administration.

True Networking Thursdays
In January, Roberts Wesleyan College was honored to be a sponsor of True Networking Thursdays, an African-American networking organization whose purpose is to provide opportunities for personal and professional awareness, development, and interaction.
The sponsorship was two-fold: first, hosting the event at the Meridian Centre in Brighton allowed Roberts to showcase the brand new off-campus classroom space for non-traditional students, and second, Roberts’ faculty and staff were afforded the opportunity to interact with TNT members about Roberts’ adult degree programs while learning about their professional goals and community involvement. Attendees enjoyed sharing a dinner while meeting new friends and continuing to build their professional networks.
Roberts Wesleyan College was delighted to sponsor the event and looks forward to building its relationship with TNT in the future.
