Security Measures
Unified Threat Management System
First layer of defense against attacks. This system scans all incoming and outgoing request for viruses & malware.
Intrusion detection prevents the exploitation of known vulnerabilities. Instant Messaging and other Peer-to-Peer transmissions
are also scanned for malicious programs and data.
Internet Filtering
Pornographic and Gambling web sites are blocked form our internal network. Any user accessing our network, will not
be able to view these kinds of web sites.
Antivirus/AntiSpam on Email
Every email is checked for viruses and qualified against our Spam filter. Violating messages are
quarantined so the user can sort through the messages.
Registration & Authentication
All student computers are required to be registered on our network. Registration
involves conforming to our security standards. Antivirus and Anti-spyware
are required! (free versions available).
To access any internal web site users must authenticate with the Roberts Account.
Wifi
All these security measures now extend to our updated wireless network on campus.
